Since 1950 Fred Thieler was member of the artists group "Zen 49", which
supported the abstract art. As one of main representatives of the
German Art informel Thieler is also an important colour painter, whose
gesticulous painting goes beyond the pure brush line: The diluted
colors are poured upon the canvas and unfold their own dynamism, that
is determined particularly by the material.
